I’m glad I was finally able to get this croquet web site up and running, it turns out that creating a web site is not nearly as easy as I originally thought it would be. It turns out there were a lot of unexpected little steps and costs associated with having a web site. I’m more of a croquet dude than an internet dude, so I had to do some research to figure all of this out. I ended up having all the services done through GoDaddy because they offered the best deal and made it really easy. I used a Go Daddy Coupon to get a special deal with 25% off of everything I purchased.
The items I bought were a domain name registration, a year of web hosting, SSL security, and some web design services. Domain name registration is just paying to get your personalized name to be used as the address of the web site. So to get the web site ‘aggiecroquet.com’ I had to register that domain name using the Go Daddy Coupon. The web hosting is just the place where all the pictures and stuff on this site are hosted. SSL security is something I’ve learned every site needs to protect from hackers and malicious software. The web design was just to get us started, we had them set up this WordPress site for us and now I just manage it myself. Overall, it was relatively cheap with the Go Daddy Coupon.
